The inner child is a living part of you that resides within the psyche. It holds your earliest emotional imprints: the innocence, needs, fears, desires, and authenticity you embodied before you learned to protect, strive, or suppress. To work with the inner child is to reach into the original layers of self, where the soul first encountered the world and began to make meaning of it.
When wounded, the inner child becomes the hidden root of adult patterns: the fear of abandonment that shapes attachment, the unworthiness that fuels perfectionism, or the over-adaptation that silences authentic expression. Healing the inner child requires returning to the past to meet these parts with presence, re-parenting the unmet needs, and integrating the fragmented aspects of self.
We all carry remnants of our early experiences. To have an inner child is to be human, and healing is not about blame, but about connecting with what was once lost.
This is a practice of deep reclamation.
